Shortly after her sold-out show in Miami, FL, on Oct. 30, rapper Tokischa was paid a special visit by none other than global superstar Drake.

Drake spent the past week partying in Miami, celebrating his 36th birthday. To the surprise of many, the Canadian rapper was in attendance for Tokischa’s concert at the E11even nightclub in Miami. There aren’t other details about their interaction beyond the photo they took together, but their meeting inspires the question: Could a collaboration between the rappers happen? Drake rapping over a dembow beat would surely get the internet talking. Even before the two stars met, certain music fans on social media have expressed their interest in seeing them work together.

“Since when did Drake follow Tokischa?” wrote a sleuthy social media user along with an emoji implying tears of joy.

“Trust and believe I will get Drake to collab with either Bad Bunny, Tokischa or El Alfa” wrote another Twitter user.

Tokischa has been having an incredible year. She hit the touring circuit over the summer when she performed across Europe in cities such as Paris, Rome, and Ibiza. The American leg of her “Popola Tour” just concluded in Miami, but played sold out shows in major cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia.

Tokischa became one of the first artists to participate in NPR Tiny Desk’s “Latinx Heritage Month” special. The Dominican rapper also released some high-profile collaborations with Madonna, Marshmello, and Anuel AA. She became the first female Dominican artist to perform on Good Morning America when she sang her collaboration with Ozuna

Next year, Tokischa already has some major performances on deck, including Lollapalooza in Argentina and Chile (which, coincidentally, Drake is set to headline). Maybe we can finally see the two take the stage together if the stars align.
