We have a brand new exclusive trailer for the upcoming biopic Cesar Chavez. Directed by (one of our faves) Diego Luna and starring Michael Peña as Cesar Chavez, the iconic labor leader, the film chronicles the birth of a movement to fight for a living wage for America’s farm workers. Together with Dolores Huerta (played by Rosario Dawson) Chavez founded the United Farm Workers a labor union that organized boycotts and hunger strikes. Finally, this important part of Latino history will be memorialized on the big screen. The movie also features America Ferrera and John Malkovich and opens across the country on March 28th, 2014.
In advance of the release of the film, the Cesar Chavez Foundation has launched a petition to ask President Obama to declare March 31, Chavez’s birthday, as a National Day of Service.
