Brazilian indie singer and multi-instrumentalist Lúcio Silva has been making some carefree folkish pop tunes for the past few years, and you’re probably wondering why you’ve never heard his music before.
Silva’s music is known mostly in Brazil and Portugal. In 2012, his debut album Claridão came out, and since then he’s been touring extensively between those two countries, doing many solo shows and opening for artists such as Lana del Rey and The xx. He’s also part of the Lollapalooza Brazil 2014 lineup next April.
“Janeiro” is Vista Pro Mar’s first single. Layers of melodies intertwine with Silva’s adorable voice, taking us on a sailing trip across a sweet love declaration. And when you think the song couldn’t get any better…is that a saxophone we’re hearing?
Like a wave finally reaching the sand, just to leave a trace of foam at your feet, it’s impossible not to feel captivated by Silva’s charm and his music. Vista Pro Mar is out on March 17th, but in the meantime you can preorder it now and wait for three more singles every Monday until the due date.
