The first thing people notice about Chicano Batman is the awesome name. The next thing they notice is the loads of psychedelic and funk sounds in their tunes, of which there are plenty of in their new album.

The band is gearing up for the release of their latest album, Cycles Of Existential Rhyme, on February 18th with this two-track teaser.

The action starts with “Wednesday Morning,” a song that’s so funky it’ll make your tío Rogelio bust out his homecoming photo from Chatsworth High School Class of ‘76 and immediately reminisce about how he used to cruise down Brooklyn Ave. with his compas lookin’ for a good time and, maybe, a bit of trouble, too.

The band’s trademark guitar sound takes a backseat to a melting, hypnotic organ in the romantic ballad “She Lives On My Block.” Once again, tío Rogelio will bust through your door to tell you another story from his crazy days. This one will be about his first love, a.k.a. the one that got away.

Cycles Of Existential Rhyme will be available on February 18th in many sexy formats.
