King Doudou's Ñu-Cumbia Experiments on KD Compil 1 with Fauna, Zonora Point, and More [GLOBAL]

King Doudou traveled South America and came back with a hard drive full of tracks he recorded in collaboration with local artists, which he’ll be releasing in the form of compilation EPs. This is the first one of the series and it’s simply titled Compilado 1 or KDCOMPIL1.

The French producer also known as Douster (of ZZK Records fame) doesn’t limit himself to experimenting with ñu-cumbia, but that’s the main dish in this EP, with “Labios” (featuring Peru’s Dengue Dengue Dengue) as the strongest contender in the battle for dance-floor supremacy, followed closely by his remake of Los Mirlos’ classic chicha “Cumbia Amazónca” (available as a free bonus track).

Chile’s Zonora Point (one of Douster’s frequent collaborators) and Argentina’s Fauna and Catnapp round out this release with some stoner rap, dembow, and funky breakbeats, respectively. Mad props to for the Peruvian-poster-inspired art which is available in the form of a screen-printed poster if you order the physical CD.
