Hard work has definitely paid off for Los Rakas. The Oakland-born Panameños recently signed a deal with Universal Music Latino and will release a debut double album later this year. On top of that, they were chosen late last year as one of a handful of artists to be part of Converse CONS Project as Converse Ambassadors.
The project involves a number of things including an album of collaborations between CONS Project artists. In this case, the Bay Area rude boys paired up with The Bots from NYC. The result sees The Bots trading their White Stripes/Black Keys-esque tunes for a mellow hip-hop track with Ricardo and El Negrito Dun Dun that’s more about space trippin’ than space shippin’.
