On Friday night, the Urbanworld Film Festival turns up the west coast thump when Inglewood native Sabi brings the Pacific breeze to New York City, Que Bajo!? style.
Daughter of an African-American father and Salvadoran mother, Sabi is breaking through the saturated mediawaves by providing the sultry vocals to Cobra Starship’s “You Make Me Feel” as well as dropping hits of her own like “Cali Love” and most recently “Running Away”, a track inspired by the film ISA in which Sabi has a featured role.

ISA is a brown sci-fi flick that tells the story of Isabel Reyes (Jeanette Samano) who discovers she has a computer chip in her brain causing her dreams to meld into reality. Her best friend Nataly, played with steadfast poise by Sabi, joins Isa’s plight to find the people responsible for her implant and bring down their empire. The film was written and directed by Jose Nestor Marquez and created under the canopy of Telemundo’s indie studio Fluency.

Singer, actress, and all around dynamic performer Sabi’s proven to be a real Sabi-lo-todo and will be joining Geko Jones‘ party prefects Friday night to take on the dawn. Have a look-see for yourself either as a passive film viewer or a drolly disco dancer.
