NYC: What to Watch at the 30 UNDER 30 Film Festival

There is no lack of film festivals in New York so starting a new one might seem redundant but 30UNDER30 is really one of a kind. The fest is showcasing 30 short films from 30 filmmakers under 30 years old. Running this weekend the two-day event includes three film programs, a free panel discussion, after parties and an awards ceremony. And at $7 a ticket which includes a program of short films plus a party, it is probably the best priced film fest in NYC!

Sebastian Rea, a 24 year-old Ecuadorian-born and New York-raised filmmaker founded the festival to showcase young talent, “I started this festival because I wanted to specifically spotlight young emerging directors like myself and create a platform that engages the larger community with our work. We are the next wave of talent with unique voices and perspectives and we want to share our visions with the world.”

Of the 30 short films screening at 30UNDER30 ten of them are from Latino filmmakers. We highlight these shorts below.
