What Rafael Rosa seeks to share with his album Portrait , first and foremost, is his love of Puerto Rico. That orgullo is what has driven the Puerto Rican born jazz guitarist to write and record an album full of “a canvas of sounds …that form an exotic sketch of Bomba-Latin-Fusion.” Inspired by the musical greats Jimi Hendrix, Miguel Zenón, Viento De Agua, and Ricardo Pons (to name a few), Rosa is determined to draw a portrait of himself through his music, as sonically diverse as it is.
Currently enrolled in NYU’s Steinhardt School of Music Graduate Degree Program in Jazz Performance, Rosa has split his time and energy between completing his degree while also completing his Portrait. Rosa and the Rafael Rosa Group have a passion to share this unique Latin musical experience with their listeners, and they need your help!
