If there’s any rock group today who’s defiant for all the right reasons, it’s New York-based quintet, Outernational. This revolutionary, proclaimed future rock band took us by storm at the start of this year with the release of We Are All Illegal/Todos Somos Illegalesand album that triggered after Arizona’s ruthless regulations and legislations. Even though the folks aren’t fairly new to the music scene, Outernational swarmed with infectious noise and riveting live shows showcasing this aforementioned release, forcing the passivity out of any listener with their conscious and alarming message.

The video for “We Are All Illegal” had an interesting approach for its making inviting anyone to join in and express any sensibilities and frustrations caused by the nation’s ideological and racial segregation. It’s an attempt to bring solidarity and resistance with all immigrants. At the start of it, you see frontman Miles Solay reenacting the border crosser’s experience through the desert, then joining in with other bandmates, and jumps into raw footage with the 100 participants. Fierce music heavyweights Residente Calle 13, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Chad Smith are featured and all star in the video. Special guest Thom Russo also makes an appearance.
