Gift Guide: What To Get Your Boozy Tio

Oh, the boozy Tio. Usually dressed up as an incoherent Santi Clo , they are as much a part of Christmas as coquito and flan. And hey, he deserves a nice little regalito too and we have a feeling a bottle of tequila will be just right.

And not just any bottle will do. For the Holiday season, Jose Cuervo and Tequila Reserva de la Familia have collaborated with Mexican artists for beautiful, one-of-a-kind packaging. Each Reserva de la Familia box is made of wood and bottled by hand, so it’s an awesome opportunity to share your amor with family and friends.

For the 2012 collection, artist Ricardo Pinto has been chosen as the artist to design the boxes for the Reserva de la Familia Extra Añejo. He is known for recreating the architecture and essence of the everyday life of Mexico City and because each tequila is bottled by hand and is in limited production, they will be $159 each. But the best thing about these is that once all the delicious tequila has been thoroughly enjoyed, they’ve got a beautiful, decorative bottle as a better reminder of their maybe not so beautiful boozy antics.
