Spanish researchers from two universities in Spain, la Universidad del País Vasco and la Universidad de Salamanca, have a new theory that goes against what we hear most often today. In a gross summary: people say that the universe is expanding and time is accelerating because of the influence of dark matter. These Spanish scientists, however, are saying that time is slowing down and will eventually come to a stop.
Apparently, the idea is not crazy, particularly if you believe in the big bang: if time has a beginning, it might also have an end.
