10th Annual African Diaspora International Film Festival

Event Description

In the 10th edition of the African Diaspora International Film Festival, films from South Africa, Surinam, the US, Brazil, Cuba, and Cameroon will be screened.  Films include Welcome to Pine Hill, winner of Slamdance’s Grand Jury Prize, which follows a young African-American man dealing with issues of family, friendship, loneliness, and death; The Big Banana a documentary on big business profit of Cameroonian banana; Les oublies de l’histoire (The Forgotten) by Moroccan filmmaker Tahar Ben Jelloum, a story focusing on prostitution in Belgium, is a very poignant film on immigration and broken dreams; and Golden Scars is about music, Hip Hop and life in Cuba.

The screenings will be held at two locations:
