New downtown bar/music venue Salon Hecho, which opened in October with a performance by Dapuntobeat and featured such Remezcla Music featured artists as Rey Pila and Dani Shivers. As the name implies, the venue is connected to Hecho en Dumbo – in fact, it’s right next door.
Tonight marks the opening of their second major music series with eclectically influenced dub/ska/reggae/Latin/kitchen sink group R. Tronika, followed by six more groups. We’re not as unreservedly excited about this lineup as we were for the first one, but they’re sure to please. It’s a small venue, so show up early before it gets too packed.
We hope their New Year’s Eve party is awesome.
