Repertorio Espanol is performing En el tiempo de las mariposas (In the Time of the Butterflies), a play adapted by Caridad Svich and Julia Alvarez, winner of the Hispanic Heritage Award in Literature. The play is an adaptation from the latter’s novel about the courageous Mirabal sisters, who sacrified their lives to resist the cruel Trujillo regime in the Dominican Republic and inspired others to follow suit.
