As one of thirteen children, and having spent five years in an orphanage, it was probably tough for Ivián Sarcos to imagine a glitzy future, but this twenty-two year old Venezuelan human resources graduate will have no trouble finding her spotlight now: she has been crowned Miss World 2011. It was a good showing all around for former Spanish colonies, with second place going to Miss Philipines, Gwendoline Ruais, and third place to Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Perez.
