Jam Out to Juanes on Rock Band 3?!

Rock Band 3 will unveil in October and a rather odd sound will be coming out of its plastic axes and speakers: Juanes. No, really, Juanes. The Colombian pop-roquero has been tapped to have his song “Me Enamora” included in Rock Band 3’s rollout, as well as six other tracks to be offered as downloads starting next week, July 27th, on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii.

Juanes‘ “Me Enamora” is the first Spanish-language song to be included in the Rock Band corporate behemoth. The man with the eye brows will get game chummy with the usual suspects, the Rock Band varsity team: Stone Temple Pilots, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, and Jimi Hendrix. Contempo bands like Rilo Kiley, Metric, and Them Crooked Vultures are also included in the new edition.

But there’s something inherently bizarre in the fact that of all the Latin rock artists in this world–Soda Stereo, Robi Draco, Cafe Tacuba, Zoe, Mana por amor a Dios?! Granted, I don’t really want to rock out to Mana any time soon, but still. ROCK is the operative word here.

But congrats to Juanes for being the first. May he not be the last. My personal vote: Moderatto. They were born and bred for the job.

Juanes tracks to be featured for download:

Juanes – “A Dios le Pido”

Juanes – “Fíjate Bien”

Juanes – “Gotas de Agua Dulce”

Juanes – “La Camisa Negra”

Juanes – “Mala Gente”

Juanes – “Yerbatero”
