Unusual Suspects

Street art in Chicago, welcome your new perpetrators. Apparently knit graffiti is big all over the world, but I was a bit confused when I first heard about it. The pictures do a much better job at describing what the new craze is all about. It has been called “the world’s most inoffensive graffiti”, and it definitely looks awesome around the meters and poles in Pilsen. Our sources tell us other hoods are on their map to be tagged.

The local Stich and Bitch knitting group claims responsibility for the latest tags around their regular knitting spots. The group also takes on more traditional objects such as scarfs and the like to invade urban spaces, but they thought something was missing in the Chi  after other larger knitting groups like Knitta Please have conquered poles and street fixtures all over the world. Our local collective is always looking for new hard-core knitters so hit them up on their blogspot to learn more. And let us know if your hood gets tagged and what you think about this warm and fuzzy new art work in the city.
