Think of Pedro Capó as a Latino version of Jason Mraz: he’s got the looks, the sensibility, even the hat. But Capó also has pedigree, and don’t mind his tribal tattoos…he’s got taste, and writing skills. His grandfather was Bobby Capó, one of Puerto Rico’s most famous composers, who in the 1940’s and 1950’s wrote classics such as “Piel Canela,” and “Luna de Miel en Puerto Rico.”
After stints in the Celia Cruz Off-Broadway musical (he played Cabezita de Algodon’s nurse), and in the film Paraiso Travel with John Leguizamo, Capó, who is based in New York City, is now focused on his music. He’s playing several gigs around town (catch him live September 10 at The Delancey) and will be releasing his debut album in October through Sony.
