Come March, Austin will be hosting some of the most talked about indie bands from across the country and world. This year, the South by Southwest (SXSW) music conference will showcase an impressive selection of bands from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, and Spain (many of which are English-singing bands, what’s up with that?). Remezcla will be there to take it all in, so check in for our exclusive coverage!

Sadly, many of us can’t make it over there in the middle of March (13-22), but you can still be in on the action. Check out some of these amazing bands before they become all the rage. SXSW is known for getting bands signed and blasted onto the scene.

Check it out:
Banda de Turistas –The long-haired pop rockers from Buenos Aires just recently played at the LAMC in Argentina. Check out their latest video for  “Un Verdadero Cajón de Madera”:

Bomba Estéreo! – These colombianos will set off an explosion from your speakers with their electro-tropical cumbia and hip-hop accompanied by lead singer, Li Saumet’s vocals.

Telerama – from Brazil, they bring you catchy pop ballads in their native Portuguese.

The May Fire – These indie rockers recently moved from San Francisco to L.A., and despite being favorites of ours for a while now, this is their first SXSW.

Hello Seahorse! – Straight from el D.F., Hello Seahorse! creates dreamy-like indie pop. Check out their video for “Won’t Say Anything“:

…and this is just a mere taste of what’s going to be there. Click here for the full lineup of bands (which is being added to constantly…) Conference badges go up in price after February 13th, so now’s the time to sign up if you want to go….
