Obamanos!

Last night, Remezcla, Voto Latino, and hundreds of New Yorkers gathered at SOB’s to watch the map turn bluer and bluer and witness history as Barack Obama was elected our 44th President.

While calm and serious at first, the atmosphere turned raucous and beyond celebratory as polls closed at 11pm and the results proved that Obama had won by a landslide (thanks, in large part, to the Latino vote!).

There were tears, hugs, shouts and shrieks, and plenty of dancing as the crowd of (entirely) Obama supporters reveled in the news of the country’s first minority president. The festivities poured out onto sidewalk, as party-goers stepped outside to call family members and friends, and cars and trucks honked in support and excitement as they drove by.

Latina.com was at the event, and already whipped together this video, so you can re-live (or check out) how we celebrated last night.
